Thespians Generate Interest |
|||||||||
| "Thespian Society is an honorary club formed for the purpose of promoting interest in drama," said Bob Connelly '68, this organization's president. The other officers are Lee Rodin '68, vice-president; and Diana Scherrer '68, secretary-treasurer. The biggest project sponsored by Thespians this year has been the production of Arsenic and Old Lace. The purpose of this play was not to raise money but to give opportunities and experience to students who are interested in acting. The sponsor of Thespians, troupe 2119, is Mr. Garth Boyer, head of the drama department at Maine West. Mr. Boyer was the director for Arsenic and Old Lace and is presently |
directing Take Her, She's Mine, the Senior Class play which had its first performance last night and is continuing through tonight and tomorrow. A new constitution was adopted by this club through the advice of the national organization. Admission for membership has been set up on a point system, and a copy of this system will be sent to each homeroom to explain eligibility. When asked about future plans, Bob said the troupe was planning a trip to see Man of LaMancha and organizing committees to enter in speech competition. |
