High Schools Exchange Students

Recently Maine West completed the Student Council exchange, held this year with Prospect High School.

On November 7 Linda North '68, Ellen Sangster '68, and Debbie Lusk '70 went to Prospect. To complete the exchange, on November 15 three Prospect students visited Maine: a sophomore boy, a senior girl, and their Swedish foreign-exchange student.

In this effort to bring about closer relations with neighboring schools, both Maine West and Prospect benefited. Mainites returned with ideas concerning a new system for conducting Election Week.
Prospect was intrigued with the Maine West system of selecting the Homecoming queen. and her court. At Prospect the nominations and selections are left exclusively up to the seniors.

Many things at Prospect are different. They have only six periods, but they are much longer than those at Maine West. However, they get out of school at 2:50 p.m.

The lack of a dress code at Prospect surprised the Maine West students. Even the teachers appeared to be more lenient.

Hosts for the Prospect visitors were Ron Colberg '68, Jo Schaefer '69, and Lynn Callarman '70.
