Boys' Club Sponsors Formal

This is the last day that Maine West students and alumni can purchase tickets for the Christmas formal, "Blue Frost," which will be held from 8:30 to 11 p.m. tomorrow night in the auditorium. The tickets, which have been on sale in the cafeteria since Monday, are $2.25 per couple. No tickets will be sold at the door.

The dance, which is sponsored by Boys' Club, will feature Frank Derrick and his orchestra, back by popular demand after having played at the formal three years ago. Punch and cookies will also be served between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

On December 4 all the boys at Maine nominated girls for the court at the formal. The Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Classes will be represented by one girl from each. The Senior Class will have two girls, one of whom will become the queen. The queen and her court will be announced at 9:45 p.m.
According to Max Elsey '68, in charge of decorations, "The decorations and orchestra should lend a nightclub type atmosphere to the dance.'

Boys' Club has been planning the dance since the second week of school. John Lovering '69, secretary-treasurer, commented, "We hope to sell about 200 tickets. That's what we usually sell." The expected profit should be between $50 and $100.

John Thvedt '68 is publicity chairman for the dance and is also vice-president of the club. Jim Thompson '68 is in charge of refreshments. Other officers of Boys' Club include Larry Kahler '68, president, and John Lovering '69, secretary-treasurer.

Sponsors are Mr. James Killam and Mr. James Gary.
