Girls' Yearly Turnabout Dance To Prove Leap Year, Beneficial |
|||||||||
| "At last, you can have a date with that 'special someone' you've been eying all year," says Donna Lindfors '68, president of Girls' Club. The annual girls' choice dance, "Carousel," will be held on February 17 from 8:30 until 11:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. In accordance with the carnival theme, the cafeteria will be transformed into a giant carousel. Merry-go-round horses will be placed around the cafeteria. There will be colorful balloons everywhere. Other decorations will also give the cafe-teria the atmosphere of a carnival. R-104 will serve as the refreshment stand, where popcorn, carmel-corn, and punch will be served. The Renaissance and the Mead, two combos from Maine West, will provide entertainment for the festive evening. Dress for the dance will be Sunday best. |
Donna Lindfors remarked, "I'd like to encourage all girls to attend 'Carousel' because it should be fun. The members of Girls' Club have been working very hard to make this dance a success. This year's dance is going to be different from those of the past years. I want to urge each girl to take this opportunity to treat her special boy to an evening of fun." Tickets for the dance are $1.75 per couple and will go on sale Tuesday, February 13, in the cafeteria during all lunch periods. The chairmen of the dance committees are Sue Lenhart '68, decorations; Linda Bergera '68, entertainment; Cathy Bruhn '71, publicity; Debbie Wojak '71 and Sue Black '71, refreshment; and Kathy Bautista '69, tickets and bids. The officers of Girls' Club in addition to Donna are Debbie Sider '68, vice-president; Melissa Amling '68, secretary; and Kathy Bautista, treasurer. Miss Mae Jean Engen, dean of girls, and Miss Mary Dueland, counselor, are the sponsors of Girls' Club. |
