| Maine West Dads' Club will sponsor a Donkey Basketball game on Monday, February 26. The game will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Maine East field house. Admission is $.50 for grammar school students and $1 for high school students and adults. An Astro-Science Workshop is being held each Saturday at the Adler Planatarium. This program is open to 50 students from the Chicagoland area. The workshop includes a lecture, questions, and a laboratory period; it is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Don Maruska '68, a former student of the program, urges, "Anyone who has an interest in Astronomy should apply." The Astro-Science Workshop is open to juniors and seniors, with a recommended background in chemistry and physics. Mr. Louis Bergdolt, science instructor, emphasized, "This is a very unusual opportunity for Maine West students." |
The Industrial Education Department is going to supplement Electronics I, II, and III by adding Electronics IV to their program. This course will deal with digital computers. Students interested in this course will be involved in programming, fortran language, and building blocks. Mr. Conrad White, electronics instructor, urges students to participate in this new course. The March of Dimes drive at Maine West was the most successful this year. The collection drive, sponsored by Brotherhood Society, totaled $627. Tom Barrett '69 commented, "Since the drive is usually held on a five-day basis and we held it only for four days, it was unusually successful." The Sophomore PTC party will be held on Saturday, March 9. The title of the party is "The Old Soft Shoe." The Chairmen for the party are Joe Szabo, decorations; Jeff Maruszewicz and Bill Erickson, entertainment; Toni Hems, food; and Lee Evans, publicity. |
