Jacqueline Tremaine Lepak, “Jackie”, 81, long-time resident of La Habra Heights, passed away on April 12th, 2025, after a recurrence of cancer. She was born October 26, 1943, in Chicago, the daughter of the late William and Fae Cober. Jackie grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois, and graduated from Maine West High School. After spending the summer of her junior year in California with a dear friend, a plan to move west was solidified. Jackie went to work for United, where her mother, Fae, worked, saved her money, and within 2 years, moved from the cold of Illinois to sunny California. There she started and raised her family while managing the phones and books for the air conditioning business she and her husband Mark owned. Jackie enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, road trips, dancing, playing cards, summer concerts in the park, attending her grandchildren’s plays and sporting events, babysitting her newest grandson Weston, lunching with her various friend groups, including Soaring Spirits, dinners out with her family, and holidays with family. She was a cherished friend to many, and maintained friendships from early childhood in Des Plaines with her Girl Scout Troop as well as her fellow Maine West Alumni. Jackie is survived by her son Richard (wife Maura and children Samantha, Hannah, Sarah, and Kate), son Thomas (wife Anne), daughter Sharie (husband Jeffrey and children Chloe and Mark), and son John (wife Vanessa and children Reese and Weston); sisters, Beverly (Joseph) Libretti, Sharon (Ronald) Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark Ralph Lepak, late brother Richard (Regina) Cober, and late sister Evelyn (deceased William) Koves.
