Dixie D. Van Giesen (nee Hamblen), 58, of Springfield, IL, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at her home. She was born Nov. 13, 1943, in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Neal and Helen Edwards Hamblen. Mrs. Van Giesen was a service representative for CILCO and a member of Third Presbyterian Church. Survivors: a son, Mark (wife, Alma) Van Giesen of Chicago; a daughter, Kelly Van Giesen of Peoria; two grandchildren; mother, Helen Marquard of Williamsville; two brothers, Jeffrey (wife, Diana) and Jack Hamblen, both of Springfield; five sisters, Margaret (husband, Raymond) Harmon of Minier, Linda (husband, Wayne) Condra of Titusville, Fla., Nancy (husband, Arnie) Burley of Mackinaw, Robin (husband, Duane) Ingram of Broadwell and Lori (husband, David) Benner of Williamsville; and many nieces and nephews.
