Jerry Niebuhr, 74, of Wenatchee, WA, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017. Jerry "Papa" Niebuhr, age 74, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, passed away after an extended illness, in Wenatchee, WA, on August 31, 2017, with his wife, Alice, and his stepdaughter, Debi Gredler, by his side. Jerry was born to Alvin and Helen (Bieleski) Niebuhr in Elmhurst, IL, on February 28, 1943. Jerry retired from GTE in 1993. He then started work for Interwest Telecom. Upon retiring from Interwest, Jerry and his wife, Alice, managed the Wenatchee River County Park, in Monitor, WA, for eight years. Jerry and Alice retired for "good" to Arizona for the winters. They traveled back to the Wenatchee area for the summers, staying in their motorhome. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ken Niebuhr and Leroy Niebuhr; and a stepson, Dale Gredler. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Niebuhr; sons: Tracy Niebuhr, Todd Niebuhr (Shelly) of Wenatchee, WA, and Jim (Bernadette) of Olympia, WA; stepchildren: Terry Gredler and Debi Gredler; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
