Jeffrey D. Smith, 45, of Elgin, IL. Born June 11, 1965, in Des Plaines, he died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Jeff was employed by the City of Elgin, running the Wing Park Golf Course. He is survived by his wife, Julie; their son, Lukas; his parents, Frank and Laverne Smith of Great Falls, Mont.; and two sisters.
